Hollywoodlitsales.com has a nice affordable coverage package for first timers to the service. For $75 “A professional story analyst (”reader”) will read your feature-length script 80-120 pages (no books for this special) and will analyze it in a coverage report of 3 pages single-spaced. Comments section will be two pages min. No synopsis is included”.
What did I get? I got 31/4 pages of coverage. While the comments were good there where some glaring mistakes. At first I was angry because some the problems outlined were because the reader made some mistakes I can only attribute to a quick hurried read. I considered asking for slower read but it wasn’t worth the hassle and I had enough notes I agreed with to busy me with hitting the script again.
How do I rate Hollywoodlitsales? Well….it’s obviously a business first and foremost. I think you can get the same type of coverage for free on triggerstreet. com as long as you can see through the competitiveness. If it’s your first draft there are going to be some issues and you already know that in the back of your mind. So I would suggest finding cheaper alternatives or even free resources such as triggerstreet.com or a new service that I am still looking at called Zura.com
